Of course the most important book for homeschooling is the BIBLE. (If you do not have a Bible we will send you one for FREE. ) And the most important thing a parent will teach is to declare that Jesus is Lord! "If you CONFESS with your mouth, 'JESUS IS LORD,' and BELIEVE in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved (Romans 10:9)." We are saved by grace through faith and not by works (Eph 2:8)! This is the GOOD NEWS of the "KINGDOM OF GOD" (Luke 16:16)!! And this is the news we must share with our children.

Making Jesus Lord does happen at a point in time but it is also an ongoing process (2 Corinthians 3:7-18). Teaching this to our kids is by far the most important subject. Share with your children your experience of becoming a follower of Jesus as well as your experiences of continually making Him Lord. Share with them the beauty of Baptism, the memorial of communion, and the power of prayer. Remember it is difficult to pass on to our children something you do not have yourself. Furthermore, you and I both know that academic excellence does not equal eternal life. Many parents fall into the trap of supposing homeschooling is only about academics and fail to train their children spiritually as well as academically. So beware, Satan is always roaming around like a lion looking for someone to devour (1 Peter 5:8). Undoubtedly, he would want us to fix our eyes on books or lessons or anything other than the Lord Jesus (Heb 12:1-2). Any subtle way of getting us slightly off target will serve his purpose, and you better believe he will try it.

So this is our declaration to all those who visit HomeSchoolTradingPost.com and all who seek to train up their children: JESUS IS LORD!!! We hope you will make Him your Lord if you have not already. And we pray continually with all kinds of prayers (Eph 6:18) for our children and yours.

May God raise up a generation of men and women who seek His face. May he raise up an army of parents who teach His will. And may he raise all of us up off our knees each day to proclaim to the world that JESUS IS LORD!!!
